Teddy Bear Picnic

So today was Skylar's teddy bear picnic. And it was a lot of fun!

We got to the park at about 11 this morning so that we could stake our claim on a good spot. All morning it looked like it was going to rain. So all morning we were singing rain rain go away!
As soon as the party started though the clouds parted and it ended up being a really nice day.
The kids played great and had lots of fun!!
The big teddy bear was a great success! So many kids got there pictures taken of them as a bear.
Even some of the big kids did it too!
I made four dozen bear cookies. So all the kids and parents got to decorate a cookie.
And finally about 6, the party ended and we made our way home. It was a great party. And we are thinking we might make it a yearly event!

Crawdad Craziness!!

While at the lake some of our friends put out some traps and caught a WHOLE bunch of crawdads. Daddy was very excited, so we left Samantha at home at went to the feed.

Skylar wasn't to sure about them. A friend of Skyalr's earlier in the day told her they were icky.
***Cute story***
She also said that she was a semi vegetarian. When I ask what that meant she said that she didn't eat seafood. I told her that was strange because a lot of vegetarians eat seafood but not meat...her reply...Oh I eat meat its so yummy how could you not? hehe little kids say the darndest things.

Well daddy cleaned a crawdad for Skylar, dipped it in butter and that was the end of it. I think she ate as many as daddy, and mommy.......well I took pictures.

First trip to the zoo

Well today I decided to take the girls to the zoo. Skylar wasn't to sure about it at first. She was afraid that the animals would get her. But once I finally convinced her that she would be safe we were on our way. As soon as we got there, of course Skylar had to check the map to decide where we would go first.

The first animals that we saw were the otters. Skylar played peek a boo with the otters. Which was adorable. She thought it was great when they would pop out at her.

and the sea lions. They were her favorite of the day also. Before we left we had to go visit them again.

And of course we had to go see the giraffes. Since they are Grammy's favorite.

When we went to the penguins they were cleaning it so there weren't a lot of them there, but she still had fun.

And when we went to the rain forest and walked through the bird part she held her nose the whole time, she thought they were the stinkiest of all.

They have a sand area now, and she was obsessed with playing in the sand. So finally I gave in and let her play for a little bit. She did good though and didn't get to sandy. I should have known, she never gets dirty.

I had to get a picture of her riding the wolves since I always did when I went to the zoo as a child.

Finally we went on the train. Which was a huge hit...of course.

She took her camera today and took tons of pictures while we were on the train. So lots of pictures of trees.

Fun at the Lake

Lake time fun has already started for the summer season. Since we have had such nice weather we have been up several weekends.

There have been lots of bike rides

Boating

Just enjoying the lake

Playing in the water with friends

And rocking out on the patio with daddy

And I am sure there is more fun to come, can't wait!

Starlight Parade

We took Skylar and Samantha to the starlight parade this year. And it was so much fun. Both girls did really well. Skylar had so much fun before during and after the parade. She chased the birds while waiting for the runners and parade to start.

And Samantha slept.

Then the runners came and she jumped up and down while yelling encouraging words to all who passed. And amazed at all the costumes of the runners.

And Samantha slept.

Momma got attacked with hugs and kisses when Skylar had nothing else to do.

Then Skylar found some girls to play with..of course. They had giant chalk. And if you ask Skylar her favorite part of the parade she will say the chalk. :)

Little gardener

Skylar loves flowers. Whenever we see them anywhere we have to stop so that she can smell them. So as I was shopping one day I saw some pretty flowers, so I decided to buy her one. At first she was upset because I bought her a flower and not a doughnut. But once she got over it she was super excited!

We have it out on our patio. And she waters it every day. She is a very good little gardener.

my huge friend

Skylar has made friends with an older girl in our apartments. Yesterday we were outside and Skylar decided she wanted to draw a picture of her huge friend(she cant remember her name). So she draws a head, then draws eyes, ears, mouth,lips...and then she gets to the nose. Throughout the drawing she is telling me: she needs eyes to see, ears to hear...blah blah blah...you get the point. So she gets to the nose and tells me that she needs to draw nipples! I am a little taken back and not sure what I just heard so I ask her what she just said. And once again she says she needs to draw nipples. Now at this point I am stunned, and Skylar can tell....so she explains to me.

Mommmmm, she needs nipples to smell the beautiful day.....ahhhh.....the fresh air. And she takes a deep breath.

OH!!! Do you mean nostrils honey?? I ask her.

And with a big smile, she starts laughing and saying....oh yeah, I'm so silly, hahahahahaha.

Oh my my my my....she says the darndest things. If that show were still on, she should be on it. Cuz she is HILARIOUS!!!!!
