first water fun of the summer
Yesterday was really nice and definitely warm enough to get the bathing suit out and play in the water. Skylar was really in to it this year.
I got out our cooler and filled it up with some really cold water. Skylar didn't seem to mind though.
She however, did not like her swim suit. She went from wearing it...to one strap.....
to no straps. And then she was super happy and played for hours.
So now today we are on a mission to go find a sprinkler so that Skylar and her friends can run and play in the water today too.

Fun at the Park
Last time Grammy came to visit we took her to Skylar's favorite park. It's got two playgrounds and a couple sets of swings...which of course makes the park for Skylar. Those two had lots of fun.
They both got to swing.
Skylar showed gammy how to ride the donkey/horse(there is still debate on what it is, I say donkey)
And after we got home, Skylar even convinced gammy to play horsey.
Although Skyalr had to show her how first. she likes to teach people stuff these days.

Fathers Day
Skylar was super excited to have daddy's day this year. On Friday we walked to the store and bought some paint. Skylar decided that a card wasn't good enough, so she made him a whole book of pictures. I told her that it was going to be a surprise for daddy on Sunday.....but Skylar just could wait that long. As soon as Phil walked through the door on Friday afternoon she went running at him yelling that she had made him a book. I tried to play it off, but she made me go get his surprise.
Sunday rolls around and she wants to do something else for daddy. So we decide to have a picnic.
We all went out into our backyard and set out a nice blanket and had a very nice....fast(it was really hot) picnic. Skylar had a blast.

dont wanna burn
Today was the first really nice day in three weeks. So me and Skylar decided to take a walk. But before we left I told her we had to put sun block on. Knowing the routine now, she says "Yup, don't want to burn".
So I put her hair up in pigtails and put some on her neck. But miss independent wanted to do the rest herself. So I gave her a little in her hand and told her to put some on her arms.
When she was done with that I set up the mirror so that she could put some on her face. Now I really don't know what happened, because the next time I look over at her she has sun screen all over her hands, face and arms.
She is quite proud of herself...and of course, lets me take pictures of her accomplishment.
